The Center for Strategic Studies to Support Women and Children - Yemen is a civil, independent, and non-profit foundation that enjoys an independent and legal personality. It was established according to the law of civil associations and institutions No. (1) Year 2001 and its executive regulation on 20/12/2018 under the license of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. (80/ m), and its headquarters is in Taiz Governorate. It aims to support women, children specifically, and vulnerable and marginalized categories in general through specialized studies and research, contributing to developing strategies, policies, and special visions for empowering and improving the situations of women and children and all vulnerable and marginalized groups and protecting them from violence and discrimination, it also works through the projects, programs, and activities that directed to protecting the rights and the freedoms, enhancing democracy, good governance, peacebuilding, security, and development, and supporting formal and informal structures for the protection and care of battered women and children in conflict with the law. The Center interacts with all the international, regional, local, and civil parties through coordination and partnerships which contribute to achieving the Center's goals.

Message

We seek to support and assist women, children, and vulnerable and marginalized groups by enhancing the participation, protection, security, and community peace values, according to systematic insights and strategies through the specialized experiences and competencies that the Center has, for prevention and reduction of the violence and violations effects towards down to lay the values of justice, equity, and the rule of law.

General Goal

General Objective Contribution to supporting and protecting woman, child, and all marginalized and vulnerable groups from the risks of violence, and inequality, and guaranteeing that they enjoy all their fundamental rights that were guaranteed for them by domestic legislation and international instruments. Sub-Objectives 1. Contribution to enhancing community awareness of women's and children's issues in Yemen through programs, activities, meetings, and directed prints. 2. Contribution to support the political, economic, social, and cultural participation of women. 3. Work to promote the protection methods for women and children by supporting the protection and care centers for battered women and delinquent children. 4. Contribution to putting specialized visions and strategies that contribute to addressing the challenges that impede women and children empowerment from effective participation and elevate their situation for the better. 5. Work on enhancing women's capacities and skills through qualitative training programs that empower them to engage effectively in the development, peace, and security process. 6. Contribution to developing the strategies for facing the crisis that affects women and children through studies, research, and programs implemented by the Center. 7. Strengthen the principles and values of human rights, justice, and good governance through specialized reports and directed programs and events to monitor and follow up on the human rights situation, local protection mechanisms, transitional justice, and good governance. 8. Work to activate and develop partnership mechanisms and coordinate with official bodies, local, regional, and international civil society, media, and donors in a manner that is not inconsistent with the objectives of the Center and the laws in force.
